Is Career Counselling the same as Career Coaching?

No. Unlike career coaches, we offer:

  • Qualifications: We are Registered Clinical Counsellors with Master’s Degrees in Counselling Psychology, accredited by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and the College of Vocational Rehabilitation of Canada.

  • Extended Healthcare Coverage: Our services are covered by most healthcare providers, and all services are billed in hourly sessions (single sessions or packages).

  • Mental Health Expertise: We specialize in addressing mental health issues such as anxiety (including perfectionism), depression (including lack of motivation), ADHD, and other factors that can impact careers.

  • Learning Disabilities Support: We offer professional support for individuals with ADHD or atypical learning styles that can affect educational and career decisions.

What do Career Counselling sessions include?

  • Initial Interview (1 hour): We explore your background, work experience, interests, hobbies, and career goals.

  • Testing Session (1–2 hours): We administer psychometric tests tailored to your needs, including Interest Inventories, Work Values Scales, Myers-Briggs and Work Personality Index assessments.

  • Test Review Session (2 hours): We interpret the test results and provide insights into career paths that align with your personality, values, and interests.

  • Post-Review Reflection: After independently exploring potential careers, we meet again to refine your options and create a customized vocational report.

  • Vocational Report: This report integrates your test results, career goals, income data, and training opportunities. Some packages also include connections to professionals in your chosen field for informational interviews.

What can clients achieve from Career Counselling?

By the end of our sessions, our clients typically gain:

Can I pay in installments? Are there special rates or sliding scales?

We strive to accommodate financial needs in the following ways:

  • Healthcare Coverage: Our services are covered by most extended healthcare providers. We provide receipts for reimbursement.

  • Flexible Intake: No upfront commitment is required for Career & Counselling Packages. The intake session fee is deducted if you proceed with a package.

  • Added Value: While we do not offer a sliding scale, our package options provide added value compared to individual sessions. Packages are structured in hourly portions, so each session can be submitted to extended health for reimbursement where applicable.
